Megjegyzések:The authors present new faunistic data on dragonflies collected (larvae, exuviae and adults) and observed (adults) at four watercourses [two creeks (Csaronda, Kállai-főfolyás), one little river (Kraszna) and one medial river (Szamos)]. The investigated area (?Felső-Tisza-vidék`) is the geographical region of the northeast part of the Hungarian Great Plain. In the paper, the authors presented firstly the investigated area with the sampling sites, the methods used for the collection of specimens, the data processing and the introduced literature they had considered important in the identification of species and in reporting the faunistic data. Thereafter they provide a detailed material of the survey results from the sampling sites and finally summarize and evaluate the data based on the dragonfly fauna. Collections and observations were made in 1 year (2019), with the participation of 6 specialists on 24 days and 13 localities, in 11 cells (ET 69, EU 60, EU 61, EU 62, EU 92, EU 94, FT 09, FU 02, FU 03, FU 13, FU 20) of the 10x10 km UTM grid map. In the report, information on 757 specimens (451 males, 260 females, 46 specimens with undecided sex) is given in detail [318 larvae (142 males, 130 females, 46 with undecided sex), 11 exuviae (6 males, 9 females), 424 adults (303 males, 121 females)], with the observed adults representing 392 faunistic data (79 larvae, 15 exuviae, 236 collected and 66 observed adults) altogether. In this study, 29 species (10 Zygoptera and 19 Anisoptera) were recorded in the area. In the aspect of nationwide occurrence frequency 1 belongs to the very frequent, 13 to the frequent, 9 to the less frequent, 5 to the rare and 1 to the sporadic class.

Cím:Újabb adatok a Nagy-morotva (Rakamaz és Tiszanagyfalu) szitakötő-funájához (Odonata) / Dévai György, Miskolczi Margit, Szeles Júlia, Illár Máté, Szanyi Kálmán, Jakab Tibor

ISSN:1217-453X
Megjegyzések:The authors present new faunistical data on dragonflies collected (larvae, exuviae and adults) and observed (adults) from the backwater ?Nagymorotva` in the geographical microregion ?Borsodi-Tisza-hullámtér` (an active floodplain area of River Tisza in NE-Hungary), over the administrative area of two settlements (Rakamaz and Tiszanagyfalu). This work is the repeated odonatological survey-series which was done in 2009. In the paper publishing the results of previous examinations (DÉVAI et al 2012) the authors presented the methods used in the collection of specimens and in data processing, and introduced the literature they had considered in the identification of species and in reporting faunistical data so they have just referred to these. In this paper they introduce firstly the sampling sites. Thereafter they provide a detailed survey of the collection and observation results from the area and finally summarize and evaluate the data on the dragonfly fauna. Collections and observations were made in 1 year (2019), with the participation of 6 specialists on 12 days and 8 localities, in 1 cell (EU 32) of the 10x10 km UTM grid map. In the report information on 503 specimens (266 males, 230 females, 7 specimens with undecided sex) are given in detail [276 larvae (132 males, 138 females, 6 with undecided sex), 67 exuviae (26 males, 40 females, 1 with undecided sex), 160 adults (108 males, 52 females)], with the observed adults representing altogether 218 faunistical data (59 larvae, 35 exuviae, 94 collected and 30 observed adults). In this study 24 species (10 Zygoptera and 14 Anisoptera) were recorded in the area, out of which 1 belongs to the very frequent, 12 to the frequent, 6 to the less frequent, 3 to the rare and 2 to the sporadic class of countrywide occurrence frequency.

Cím:Environmentally friendly assessment of ecological quality of watercourses based on banded demoiselle, / Edina Simon, István Kolozsvári, György Dévai, Máté Illár, Petra Éva Szalay, Margit Miskolczi, Béla Tóthmérész

Megjegyzések:Dragonflies and damselflies are excellent bioindicators of the quality of both aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems. In our study, we assessed the usefulness of metric and meristic morphological traits as environmentally friendly and cost-effective indicators of the integrative ecological quality of watercourses. Our study species of choice was the damselfly banded demoiselle, Calopteryx splendens (Harris) (Odonata: Calopterygidae). Adult C. splendens specimens were collected at three study sites along the trophic gradient of the Tisza River in Hungary and Ukraine. Body and abdomen length, head width, and distances between wing landmarks were assessed as metric traits, and the number of wing cells as meristic traits. The concentration of chlorophyll-a was used to classify the three study sites into having a low, intermediate, and high trophic condition based on earlier studies. Significant differences were found along the trophic gradient based on the measured metric and meristic traits. Especially, insects from the site with the highest trophic condition had the largest body length, head width, and distances between wing landmarks, as well as the highest number of cells in the fore wings. There were also differences between males and females, but we did not find differences in fluctuating asymmetry (FA), i.e., differences between the left and the right wings. These results indicated that the morphological traits of adult banded demoiselles could be indicative of the environmental quality of a watercourse.
