Cím:Preparation and characterization of cross-linked hyaluronan nanoparticles / Magdolna Bodnár, Lajos Daróczi, Gyula Batta, József Bakó, John F. Hartmann, János Borbély
Dátum:2009
Megjegyzések:The present investigation describes the synthesis and characterization of novel biodegradable nanoparticles based on hyaluronic acid (HA). The diamine, 2,2·(ethylenedioxy) bis(ethylamine) was used for cross-linking of the HA linear chains. The condensation reaction of amino groups and pendant carboxyl groups of HA was performed in aqueous media at room temperature using water-soluble carbodiimide. The prepared nanosystems, aqueous solutions, or dispersions of nanoparticles were stable, transparent, or mildly opalescent systems depending on the ratio of cross-linking, findings consistent with values of transmittance above 77%. The structure of products was determined by nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, and the particle size was identified by laser light scattering (DLS) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) measurements. Particle size measured by TEM varied less than 130 nm; in the swollen state, the average size of the particles measured by DLS was in the range of 30-140 nm depending on the ratio of cross-linking and the molecular weight of HA. Formation of cross-linked nanoparticles results in a viscosity drop compared to the viscosity of the corresponding solution of the HA, and this trend becomes decreasingly appreciable as the molecular weight of HA decreases.

Cím:Nanoparticles prepared by self-assembly of Chitosan and poly-γ-glutamic acid / Istvan Hajdu, Magdolna Bodnár, Genovéva Filipcsei, John F. Hartmann, Lajos Daróczi, Miklós Zrínyi, János Borbély
Dátum:2007
ISSN:0303-402X
Megjegyzések:The present paper describes the preparation and characterization of novel biodegradable nanoparticles based on self-assembly of poly-gamma-glutamic acid (γ-PGA) and chitosan (CH). The nanosystems were stable in aqueous media at low pH conditions. Solubility of the systems was determined by turbidity measurements. Surface charge and mobility were measured electrophoretically. The particle size and the size distribution of the polyelectrolyte complexes were identified by dynamic light scattering and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). It was found that the size and size distribution of the nanosystems depends on the concentrations of γ-PGA and CH solutions and their ratio as well as on the pH of the mixture and the order of addition. The diameter of individual particles was in the range of 20-285 nm measured by TEM, and the average hydrodynamic diameters were between 150 and 330 nm. These biodegradable, self-assembling stable nanocomplexes might be useful for several biomedical applications.

Cím:Synthesis of crosslinked polymer nanoparticles suitable for the formation of nanolayer organic films / Andrea Uveges, John F. Hartmann, Lajos Daroczi, Janos Borbely
Dátum:2009
ISSN:0303-402X
Megjegyzések:Free radical crosslinking copolymerization of styrene and ethylene glycol dimethacrylate (nST/nEGDM in feed=5/5) has been investigated in toluene. Variation of the reaction conditions allows the formation of macromolecules with low molecular weight (21.6 kDa and 12 nm in diameter), perfectly soluble branched particles in the early stage of the polymerization. Elongation of the reaction time leads to the formation of soluble/swelling microgels with medium molecular weight (156 kDa and 41-120 nm) and, finally, swelling/particularly soluble colloidal polymer particles with very high molecular weight (3.6 MDa and 59?324 nm). Conversion, molecular weight [by gel permeation chromatography (GPC)], ratio of pendant vinyl groups [by nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR)], size of nanoparticles in swollen [by dynamic light scattering (DLS)] and dried state [by transmission electron microscopy (TEM)], morphology [by scanning electron microscopy (SEM)], and nanolayer film formation (by SEM) were measured. The role of reaction conditions in producing different polymer structures and morphologies was demonstrated.

Cím:Preparation of Reactive Polymeric Nanoparticles (RPNPs) / Szaloki M., Daroczi L., Hartmann J. F., Hegedus C., Borbely J.
Dátum:2007
Megjegyzések:Synthesis of polymeric nanoparticles attracts a great effort to obtain particles with desired size, surface and functionalities. Crosslinking polymerization methods have received considerable interest relation to the development of preparation of microgels, crosslinked nanoparticles, their composites and to study the gelation reactions. Many application fields have related to bulk crosslinked systems, e.g., in restorative dentistry, paint and powder coatings. Crosslinked nanoparticles can be formed in homogeneous solutions or under heterogeneous medium in micellar or emulsion conditions. Formation of polymers in emulsion also has an environmental aspect to reduce the volatile organic compounds (VOC). Reactive polymeric nanoparticles (PRNPs) were synthesized in heterogeneous medium by free radical non-linear copolymerization of mono (M1) and trivinyl acrylic (M2) monomers.
