Megjegyzések:	The emission of heavy metals significantly increased in the past century, as a consequence of mining and other industrial activities, as well as traffic. In the recent work, the effect of different Cd treatments was examined on some physiological parameters of tested plants. The growth of root was measured under CdSO4 treatments in the case of maize and sunflower seedlings. By assessing the measurement results, we verified our hypothesis, that sunflower reacts more sensitively to cadmium load than maize. The difference of the sensitivity of the two crops keeps increasing parallel with the increase of applied cadmium concentration.
