Megjegyzések:Composting is an alternative way for practicing site-specific and environmental friendly plant nutrient supply. Our aim was to study the effect of different composts on plant and soil system. Pot experiment with acidic sandy soil blended with three composts in five (0%, 5%, 10%, 25% and 50%) proportion was set up. Our experimental plant was perennial ryegrass ( L.). After the harvest of ryegrass we measured the fresh and dry weight of harvested plants, the P-, K-, Mg-contents, and the pH of soils. The three composts had different effect on dry weight production and on nutrient-supply of soil. We established that one of the compost had significantly larger effect on the dry weight of ryegrass compared to the others. In this study we proved that favorable compost/soil proportion is different in the case of different composts.

Cím:Dynamics of dry matter production and potassium uptake of maize in a long-term field experiment on chernozem soil / I. Vágó, M. Sipos, L. Tolner, B. Eichler-Löbermann, I. Czinkota

Megjegyzések:The effects of genotypes, nutrient and water supply on the dry matter production and potassium uptake dynamics of maize (Zea mays L.) were studied on chernozem soil in the Debrecen-Látókép long-term field experiment (Eastern Hungary).According to the experimental results and calculations it can be concluded that-in addition to the previously used and considered soil and plant nutrient contents-the calculation of the plant-extracted nutrient amount (depending on the applied hybrid, NPK nutrient levels and water supply) is suggested to enable the characterization of the growth and nutrient demand dynamics of maize genotypes. This parameter gives information not only about the available nutrient amount at a given sampling time, but about the supply level of plants up to the sampling time as well. For the proper characterization of the mentioned dynamics of maize plants authors suggest to take the following sampling times into consideration: the intensive vegetative growth period, the switch between the vegetative and generative growth phases (silking), and the grain filling phase.

Megjegyzések:Soil acidification is a relevant problem in Hungary ? just as in other parts of the world. Liming and remediation of acidic soils are essential regarding both environmental and agricultural concerns. The nowadays most applied liming material determination method is not exact enough and does not reflect enough the quality and quantity of different soil acidity forms. The main reason for that is, that with the used hydrolytic acidity measurement method only the amount of protons that are set in rapid reactions till the equation point can be titrated. With the new elaborated ?pH-stat" method we measure the amount of KOH and time needed to reach the standard pH-value 6.5 with a longer titration. The enlarged reaction time enables protons, bound on fine inner pores of soils, to dissociate. By the analysis of titration curves the actual and the potential soil acidity can be differentiated. Our measurement results make a more exact calculation of the need amount of liming material possible. The experiments carried out in three sites of acidic soils with maize plants showed that the present Hungarian liming recommendation system results lime overdose that is unnecessary and partly harmful.

Cím:Plant growth and potassium supply dynamics on a chernozem soil of a long-term fertilization and irrigation experiment with maize monoculture in Hungary / Vágó Imre, Sipos Marianna, Tolner László, Czinkota Imre, Szilágyi Gergely, Ibrahim Issa, Kátai János

Megjegyzések:For the plant production used soil's nutrient supplying ability ideally should correspond to the needsof the plants. The aim of our experiment work is to study as precisely as possible, how the dynamics ofgrowth and nutrient uptake of the maize plant develop during the vegetation period. For theirdetermination the basis of our research work was a long-term irrigation and fertilization monoculturemaize field experiment that has been set up in 1984 near to Debrecen, Hungary. The soil of thisexperiment is a medium-heavy, loam texture calcareous chernozem type based on loess. The deepnessof humus soil layer is between 70 and 90 cm. Its upper layer has become leached due to the intensiveproduction in the past decades, so it doesn't content any significant lime-amount. Therefore, the soil pHis slightly acidic in the production layer, which is favorable for nutrient-mobilization and -uptake. Thisfield represents the production circumstances of the chernozem soils of Hungary with excellentproductivity. Effects of three factors were studied: genotypes of maize (3), fertilizer dosages (6) andirrigation levels (2). The total number of investigated treatments (plots) was 36. Plant samples werecollected 7 or 6 times during the vegetation period, and the above-ground dry matter and the nutrientuptake of plants were determined. For characterizing and describing of the plant growth and nutrientuptake dynamics was used the so-called "S-type" (acceleration ? saturation) equation as follows:y=A/(1+exp(-k*(x-x0)))*(1-b*x), where "y" is the actual value of the measured (dependent) factor on theday "x" after plant shooting, "A" is the maximum value of "y", "x0" is the day of maximum growth rate of"y" (point of inflexion) and "b" is the rate of decreasing of dependent value for one unit. According toour results and calculations it can be concluded, that beside the previously used soil and plant nutrientcontentthe consideration and calculation of the plant-extracted nutrient-amount ? depending on theapplied hybrid and other agro-technological measurements ? is suggested in order to characterizeprecisely the nutrient-supply of maize. This parameter informs us not only about the available nutrientamountat the sampling time, but about the supply level of the plants until the sampling time as well.We suggest for sampling times the intensive vegetative growth period, the switch between the vegetativeand generative growth phases (silking), just as the grain-filling phase.
