Megjegyzések:The aim of this study was to compare the physical and imaging parameters of three 64 slice CT scanners. We performed the tests on the following equipments: GE Lightspeed VCT, Philips Brilliance 64 and Siemens Somatom 64. The stability and energy dependence of the Hounsfield unit, the contrast resolution (CNR), and the radiation dose (D) were determined using phantom scans. The phantom contained six different materials and two different regions. During the experiments we changed the voltage and the current parameters between the appropriate minimum and maximum values used in the clinical rutin. We found that the Hounsfield units were largely dependent on tube voltage and it was typical for the material quality and slightly depended on the used scanner. The calculated CNR values were significantly distinct between the CT scanners at almost every kV and mA settings. The highest CNR characterized the GE scanner in nearly all cases, followed by the Philips and the Siemens CT CNR data. The visual inspection of the image qualities leads to a very similar conclusion. For practical representation of the radiation dose we used CNR 2 /D figure of merit (FOM) value. In the bases of this FOM parameter the sequence of the CT scanner were GE, Philips and Siemens at 80 kV and 120 kV, and Philips, GE and Siemens at 140 kV. The physical performance parameters can be a convenient tool to compare CT scanners.
