Our paper "Geogebra: A Global Platform for Teaching and Learning Math Together and using the Synergy of Mathematicians" [1] (published in the International Journal of Teaching and Case Studies(IJTCS), Vol. 2, 2010) presented the main advantages of using GeoGebra in the teaching and learningmathematics: easy teaching and easy learning, quick and correct grasping of the concept, andprovision of an interactive learning environment. And above all, GeoGebra is an open source forteaching and learning for all. The purpose of this paper is to study and analyse of the effect of usingGeoGebra software [2] in teaching and learning process of mathematics, and to support theadvantage thesis related to it. We have investigated and got some conclusions whether the mathematicalcourse taught by using GeoGebra software is as effective as more traditional methodsof instruction. The results and the inferences are based on the experiment carried out in Albania,in a period of two years, in the second and the third year of several secondary schools of differentcities. The scientific experimentation was the comparison of several groups, one of which servedas a control group. The conclusions drawn at the end of the experiment are very optimistic. The testprovides evidence that the new teaching and learning method in mathematics, based on GeoGebrasoftware by using this software in teaching and learning process [3], causes much more increase inthe level of knowledge and skills in mathematics than the traditional method used in this process.

The quasi-squares and their limit curve / Pellumb Kllogjeri, Adrian Kllogjeri
Dátum:
2014
Megjegyzések:
The main theme in the book "Introduction to Quasi-Quadrilaterals" is that of quasiquadrilateralsand their properties. The first topic is about quasi-square representedby the equation x^2n + y^2 = 1 or x^2 + y^2n = 1. It is well-defined: the curve liesbetween the unit circle and the specified square which has its center at the origin ofthe Cartesian system and, sides of length 2 which are parallel to the coordinative axes. These type of closed curves do not represent squares but for values of n larger than100 they are almost squares. From this phenomenon derives the name "quasisquare". Also, it is proved that the curve, represented by such equation, perfectly fitsto the sides of the specified square as n increases beyond bound. In this paper wepresent a more general case of the sequence of the quasi-squares and confirm theabove fitness by proving that there exists the limit curve of such a sequence. Othersubsidiary theorems are proved as well.

Partition of a set with N elements into K blocks with number of elements in accordance with the composition of number N as a sum of any K natural summands (another representation of Stirling number) / Pellumb Kllogjeri, Adrian Kllogjeri

Megjegyzések:
In the book about the generating functions (Generatingfunctionology) that is a bridge between discrete mathematics and continuous analysis, Prof. Herbert S. Wilf of University of Pennsylvania presents many of their applications. Among many other topics, treated in this book, is the one concerning the partition of a set S into blocks or parts and the respective number of partitions. The concept on the partition of a set S into k blocks is very general, meaning that each of k blocks is of any cardinality (the numbers of the elements belonging to the blocks can be different or equal). In this paper we consider the case when the number of partitions of the set [n] into k blocks and the numbers of the elements in each box are different from one another, also the combined case: the numbers of the elements in each block can be different or equal.Lastly we have presented a new formula for computing the number of partitions of the set [n] into k blocks with respect to the representation of the number n as a sum of k natural summands (different or equal). The Stirling numbers of the second kind, or Stirling partition numbers, describe the number of ways a set with n elements can be partitioned into k disjoint, non-empty subsets. Common notations are S (n, k) and, -. The study is finalized with an extraordinary identity between the second type Stirling number and the number of partitions of number n in accordance with the composition of number n with summands. We present a second way for computing the number of partitions of number n leading to the same result achieved by Stirling. The paper is a specific contribution for specific needs. It is an answer to different and specific requirements of specialists and people of different fields. Here will find answer all of those who are concerned about the number of partitions of number n into k parts with the same number of elements, with different number of elements or, several parts having the same number of elements and the others different numbers of elements.

GeoGebra for solving problems of physics / Pellumb Kllogjeri, Adrian Kllogjeri
Dátum:

Megjegyzések:
Today is highly speed progressing the computer-based education. The computer-based education allowes educators and students to use educational programming language and e-tutors to teach and learn, to interact with one another and share together the results of their work. The computer-based education is done possible by special electronic tools among which the most important are the mathematical programmes. In this paper we will be concentrated on the use of GeoGebra programme for solving problems of physics. GeoGebra affords a bidirectional combination of geometry and algebra, by the mean of which we can see objects. We have brought an example from physics of how can be used GeoGebra for finding the center of mass(centroid) of a picture(or system of polygons). After the problem is solved graphically, there is an application of finding the center of a real object(a plate)by firstly, scanning the object and secondly, by inserting its scanned picture into the drawing pad of GeoGebra window and lastly, by finding its centroid. Surely, the passionate work of many GeoGebra users will result with a very rich fund of GeoGebra virtual tools, of examples and experiences that will be worldwidely available for many teachers and practioners and, GeoGebra serve as effective tool in problem-solving. There are many other applications of GeoGebra in the problems of physics, and many more in different fields of mathematics.

Use of GeoGebra in teaching about central tendency and spread variability / Pellumb Kllogjeri, Adrian Kllogjeri
Dátum:
2012
ISSN:

Megjegyzések:
In data analysis are used graphs, tables, and numerical summaries to study the variation presentin data under study. Graphs are effective visual tools because they present information quickly and easily.Graphs are commonly used by print and electronic media and, data can be better understood when presentedby a graph than by a table because the graph can reveal a trend or comparison. Graphs display the relationshipbetween variables or show the value spread of a given variable or phenomenon. Measuring the central tendencywe identify the most representative value in a set of data. Mean, median and mode give different perspectivesof a data set's centre, but a data description is not complete until the spread variability is also known. Thebasic numerical description of a data set requires measures of both centre and spread. In this paper we willbe concentrated on graphical representation of data collected from a population. A useful tool to get suchnice visual representations is GeoGebra. GeoGebra is an interactive geometry system and, by the use of itsvirtual tools, we can do constructions with points, vectors, segments, lines; we can construct histogram andgeometrically show the positions of the median and quartiles [4]. GeoGebra provides numerical calculationsfor the measures of data centre and spread. GeoGebra software is very useful and helpful for teachers andstudents to graphically present data and easy understand and interpret them [6]. Also, GeoGebra is dynamicmathematics software for schools that joins geometry, algebra, and calculus. Using this dynamic feature in theteaching hour of statistics, the students have a better and fuller understanding about data measures and dataspread.
