Megjegyzések:	The scientific public has relatively little knowledge about the Hungarian János Bolyai, one of the greatest thinkers of all times. Few people know that apart from being the founder of the non-Euclidean geometry he was also interested in sociology, philosophy, epistemology and linguistics. According to the renowned Hungarian psychoanalytic Imre Hermann, who lives in France, János Bolyai was mentally deranged. However, this is incorrect. The present article intends to prove that he was completely sane until the moment of his death.

Megjegyzések:	Some of the interesting documents from the legacy of Vályi family In our study we want to emphasize that at the end of the nineteenth century in Cluj-Napoca Gyula Vályi was just as much respected and prestigious in academic life, as Gyula Kőnig was in Budapest. In addition, we present three valuable documents from the Vályi family archives. These above-mentioned documents are: 1. The letter of invitation and the proposed program of the II. Congress of Mathematicians in Zurich 2. Eugenio Beltrami's letter to GyulaVályi to support the creation of a pendant which contains M. Hermite`s portrait for his 70th anniversary. 3. An appeal to support Professor Giuseppe Battaglini`s image in marble

Megjegyzések:	Gyula Vályi Invited to Budapest Invitația la Budapesta a lui Vályi Gyula In this paper we would like to present three letters as sources. Two of them were written by József Suták, a Piarist priest and mathematics professor. The third is from Aurél Török, professor of medicine, rector of the Budapest University. The letters are about trying to win Gyula Vályi over to the University of Budapest. The aim of our writing is to demonstrate that in 1898 Gyula Vályi was considered one of Hungary`s most eminent mathematics professors of the time.
