Agricultural sector remain the main contributor in the GDP of Albania, offering opportunities for local and regional development. Despite this, the agricultural businesses are not taking advantage of big data generated from their farm activities and processes. As such, the objective of our study was to propose a solution for data management with functions of gathering, analyzing, and visualization that can improve the performance of small-medium farms in Albania. The methodology used in our study was the traditional software engineering waterfall methodology which includes the stages of planning, design, development, testing, and deployment. In addition, this study offers a strategic approach that integrates the data management in farm management, emphasizing the importance of sales and purchase data in monitoring and optimizing farm efficiency and effectiveness with practical approach. The UML (unified modeling language) use case diagram was employed to illustrate the interaction between business process and farm management activities. In addition, the C# programming language and ASP.NET framework along with SQL (structured query language) are used to implement functions above mentioned belonging to the design and development steps in the waterfall model. Furthermore, to achieve an efficient and functional management system we conducted a comprehensive SWOT in-depth analysis using quantitative and qualitative variables related to innovation, education, and labor market, drawing on data from Institute of Statistics of Albania, World Bank, and various Empirical studies. The findings suggest that implementing data-driven solutions can enhance the effectiveness of small-medium size farms in Albania. Additionally, the study identifies the opportunities and challenges associated with implementing data-driven solutions to optimize farm management in Albania.

Cím:Indicators of Agricultural Production Efficiency: A Scoping Review / Dejsi Qorri, Krisztián Kovács
Dátum:2024
Megjegyzések:In agriculture, technical efficiency refers to a farmer's capacity to produce the output from a given set of inputs such as labor, labor, water, and fertilizers. Furthermore, global food security, population growth, climate change, limited land, water, and energy resources are driving the research on agriculture production and technical efficiency in both developed and developing countries. In total we analyze 478 Scopus index studies by using PRISMA guidelines. Than we applied scoping review to synthesize data and examine significant themes and developing trends using the bibliometrix program. Our study has an exploration approach, and we identify the emerging trends and key themes in agricultural production efficiency. Our investigation concludes that the majority of scholarly work done in crop production efficiency. A vast majority of papers are using data envelopment analysis (DEA) method. Furthermore, we sum up the indicators of the agriculture efficiency to provide a full view of the technological efficiency components / dimensions. Majority of studies have been conducted in Africa and Asia, we suggest more studies to be done in other continents. One explanation of the lack of studies in other regions can be due to the fact that Asia and Africa have the largest population in the world. But the population dynamics in developing and developed world make it a necessity to ensure the agricultural efficiency worldwide. Another explanation can be because developed countries new agricultural policies are more focused on sustainability goal 12 and 13(SDG 12 and SDG 13), which ensures sustainable production patterns and climate change effects. This is further synthesizes and presented as practical implementation and future directions of our study.

Cím:The Role of Human Resource Management in Agricultural Labor-Saving Technologies: An Integrative Review and Science Mapping / Dejsi Qorri; Enikő Pergéné Szabó; János Felföldi; Krisztián Kovács
Dátum:2024
ISSN:2077-0472
Megjegyzések:The integrative role of human resource management continues to rise as a topic in sustainable and smart agriculture. This dual focus emphasizes new solutions for agricultural businesses and rural areas, incorporating academic concepts with practical implementations to address the pressing challenges coming from the implementation of labor-saving technologies. The study employs the integrative review method, along with science mapping of literature. After a careful selection of studies from the Scopus database, we included 149 papers for our analysis. Our findings suggest that the overall scholarly work has been concentrated on the topics of entrepreneurship and organizational structure. We conclude that the literature is mostly directed toward sustainability development goals such as gender, diversity, and youth. The current trends topics are "collective action" and "artificial intelligence". Furthermore, our study offered insights into developing and emerging themes, trends, and future directions. The HRM functions that play a pivotal role in the adoption of labor-saving technology adoption are knowledge management, change management, labor allocation, sustainability allocation, and regulatory compliance. Moreover, we provided the practical implementation of the HRM roles and future directions. This study benefits agricultural researchers, agricultural managers, and policymakers because it gives a comprehensive and interdisciplinary perspective.
