Megjegyzések:	In our paper we examined the nitrate pollution of the groundwater wells in the settlement Báránd. We found that the water of the wells is strongly polluted, that means a serious hygienic risk. The main source of the pollution is the communal waste water, but we have to count with the pollution of the animal farms as well. The most contaminated wells are situated in the south part of thesettlement which can be explained with the north-south direction of the groundwater flow. There is a characteristic annual cycle of the nitrate pollution of the wells. The concentration decreases in the colder months, and the maximum values usually appear in the warm summer period.
