Megjegyzések:One of the well-known mottoes of human resource management is "the right person in the right place"; this means that a person with the right skills, abilities, knowledge and experience should be in a given job. The focus of our study is job design, its significance and in particular, job specification, namely the exploration of what competences are required to perform tasks occurring in a given job. Our research results describe the characteristics of an East-Hungary centred, national office network, employing more than 100 people where we analysed the jobs of the middle management and their optimal job specification design by means of case study, interview and questionnaire methods. Our aim is to explore the organizational developments associated with job design that will enable the company to utilise its middle management knowledge on a higher level and increase its efficiency without spending considerable financial resources. As a result of the study, we have summarized the most important competences of the middle managers, which ? through the classification of expected, managerial and mandatory competences ? contribute to the design of a job specification related to a given job, emphasizing the outstanding importance of competences in the corporate environment of our time.
